David A. Gray
David A. Gray is an award winning creative director and writer who moved from his native Scotland to NYC “for two years,” 14 years ago. He originally trained as a journalist, and was a feature writer and columnist, until a random series of moves (in search of less rain and more adventures) took in London, Bangkok and Hong Kong, and saw him veer into a career as a designer. He has worked on a range of titles including The Independent newspaper, Ladies’ Home Journal, BlackBook mag, The Advocate and a host of digital projects. He is currently creative director at Formula1 art book Lollipop and design director for Out magazine. He writes a weekly column for the loveliest beach town in America, and wanders the streets of Brooklyn taking photographs and thinking up ideas for strange stories, some of which make it onto paper. His Brooklyn-born kids do passable Scottish accents.
Moonflowers is David’s first book with Ellysian Press.
